I am a Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapist Associate providing therapy for children, couples, families, and adult individuals across the lifespan. As a relational therapist, I believe that hardships cannot be overcome in isolation, and that healing happens in relationships. I work collaboratively with clients to understand their goals for therapy, tailoring the format of therapy to clients’ unique needs. Whether it be building deeper relationships, navigating life stressors, or processing past trauma, I utilize warmth, creativity, and playfulness in the relationship to move with you and your loved ones towards healing. I am mindful of how oppressive systems impact marginalized communities, and actively strive to make therapy a safe and affirming space for all identities.
I integrate a variety of modalities, emphasizing an experiential and relational approach rooted in the belief that every human has innate potential for growth, connection, change, and healing. My work is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Existential Humanism, Family Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, and Interpersonal Neurobiology. When working with children and families, I integrate several play therapy modalities with attachment science and developmental awareness. Therapy can often look like incorporating creative interventions to foster connection, providing a nonverbal medium of expression, and building a sense of relational safety. In addition to meeting with children individually, I believe it is important to support caregivers as they navigate the stressors of their caregiving journey, and I build these meetings into our work together.
As a parent, I have deep compassion for how messy, vulnerable, and confusing parenting and the journey to it can be, and the impact it can have on our relationships to ourselves and others. I recognize the sensitivity that can emerge as we age and navigate our own decisions around caregiving while making sense of how we were parented. I enjoy supporting clients through perinatal, and postpartum mental health, and helping caregivers and children navigate childhood anxiety, trauma, or improving relationships. I also enjoy supporting adult individuals and couples through life transitions such as career changes, shifts in family formations, identity, and values exploration.
Prior to getting an M.A. in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy from Lewis and Clark, I received a degree and had a career in art and design. I have also received additional training on trauma informed approaches, neurodivergence in both adults and children, and LGBTQ+ issues. I have completed several play therapy trainings through Oregon’s Association for Play Therapy, the Synergetic Play Therapy Institute, and with Registered Play Therapist-Supervisors.
