I began my career as a counselor in 2007, and I continually feel thankful that I am able to listen and witness as people work through life's challenges. We all have times of struggle in our lives, and it is a privilege to be present as a support when others are going through such periods of change and growth.

As we get to know each other throughout the therapy process, I will work to become familiar with your story and your priorities. You bring along so many vital aspects of yourself - family background, culture, personal beliefs, physical strengths and limitations, griefs and losses, as well as your opinions and sense of humor. This unique perspective that you bring will be essential as you move forward in therapy. Together, we can hear your story, find compassion for the parts of life that are a struggle, and tap into your strengths to build resiliency.

Because I consider therapy to be a collaborative process, as we move forward I will value your ideas and feedback. It is important for counseling to be thought provoking, and at times it may feel challenging, but I also know that clients need to be heard with a compassionate heart - they need to feel that the counselor truly understands what it is that they are seeking through therapy. Together we will decide on the best course for you, based on your unique needs and concerns.

I hold a masters in counseling from Portland State University, and have experience working with individuals, couples and families. I have helped clients work through many different challenges, such as anxiety, stress management, life changes, grief, shame, depression and bipolar disorder, and relationship struggles. I draw from a number of different therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, Coherence Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT), and Existential Therapy.
